This paper reviews the synthesis, characterization, healing assessment, and mechanics of NiTi other shape memory alloy (SMA)-reinforced self-healing metal matrix composites (SHMMCs). Challenges to synthesizing characterizing SMA-reinforced SHMMCs strategies followed overcome those challenges are discussed. To design SHMMCs, it is necessary understand their microstructural evolution during melting solidification. requires knowledge thermodynamics phase diagrams nonequilibrium solidification, which presented in this for a model composite system.
